Social Media & Marketing Consent Policy
Last updated November 6, 2025
At Prevail Rehab & Performance ("we," "us," or "our"), we occasionally share educational content, patient success stories, and behind-the-scenes insights from our team to help others better understand how rehabilitation and performance care can make a difference.
This policy explains how we capture and use patient media, the boundaries we follow, and your rights regarding consent and privacy.
Purpose
We regularly publish educational and inspirational content through platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and our website blog.
With your permission, we may capture photos, videos, or written stories from your treatment sessions or follow-up visits to highlight your progress and demonstrate real outcomes from evidence-based care.
Scope of Use
When consent is provided, we may:
-
Record and use your image, voice, or likeness for educational and marketing purposes.
-
Refer to your case details in general terms (for example: “This 34-year-old patient came in with back pain, scoliosis, and sciatica”) to help others understand common conditions we treat.
-
Feature your story across our owned platforms, including social media posts, website articles, blogs, print materials, and videos.
-
Edit, reproduce, and share this material responsibly across our digital channels.
If you prefer that your first name not be used, we will refer to you as “a patient” or “this client.”
If you do not consent to the use of your image, likeness, or story, your preference will be fully respected.
Professional Standards & Filming Boundaries
We are committed to maintaining a respectful, professional environment during any filming or recording. To protect patient dignity and comfort:
-
Recordings will never include exposure of sensitive areas, including the gluteal region or female chest, or any situation that could be viewed as vulnerable.
-
Male patients may appear shirtless only when clinically appropriate (for example, when showing posture, shoulder movement, or exercise technique) and with verbal confirmation of comfort.
-
Appropriate clothing and draping will always be maintained. If a certain position or exercise might reveal too much, recording will pause or stop immediately.
-
Recordings are created strictly for educational and professional purposes, not for entertainment.
-
Patients may ask to stop recording at any time — doing so will not affect their care or treatment in any way.
Privacy & Confidentiality
We comply with Ontario’s Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA) and the standards of our governing professional colleges, including the College of Chiropractors of Ontario (CCO). We commit to:
-
Avoid disclosing identifiable health history or personal details beyond what is necessary for educational context.
-
Ensure all communications are truthful, factual, and professional, consistent with CCO Standard S-016: Communication to the Public.
-
Store all signed consent records securely within the patient’s file.
Voluntary Participation & Revocation
Participation in any media or marketing activity is entirely voluntary and not a condition of treatment. Patients may withdraw consent at any time by sending a written request to: contact@prevailrehab.ca
Upon receiving a withdrawal request, we will make reasonable efforts to remove your content from our owned platforms (website, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube). However, please note that material already shared or reposted by others online may not be fully removable.
