I'd been dreaming of deadlifting 405lb for what felt like forever. But no matter how hard I trained, I couldn't push past 315lb. It was frustrating, to say the least, and I tried different programs and new techniques without much luck.

Stuck at the Same Number for Too Long

Plateaus like this are common, and they're rarely about effort. Training harder at the same weight, with the same programming, usually just leads to more of the same result. What actually breaks a plateau is a structured plan that progresses the right variables at the right pace.

What Changed Over 6.5 Months

Working with Prevail Rehab and Performance, my training finally had real structure behind it. It wasn't an overnight fix, and there were still plenty of tough days, but little by little, the number started moving.

The Numbers

  • 315lb became 345lb, then 365lb, then 380lb

  • 405lb deadlift - 3x my body weight, hit this week

  • 300lb squat at just 133lb body weight, a second long-chased goal reached in the same stretch

What This Journey Taught Me

With the right guidance and a lot of perseverance, you can achieve things you once thought were completely out of reach. A stalled lift isn't a sign you've hit your ceiling, it's usually a sign your programming needs to change.
